Whether it is research, pharmaceutical or medical fields, the demand for professional health workers ids growing exponentially. The world population is increasing, new diseases and ailments are being discovered daily, complications brought on by development, the ever changing environment, nutrition and age are also increasing. The need for experts and professionals is becoming real and in fact a necessity. This is perhaps one of the reasons why in the past decade, health care has become one of the highest paying fields. The transformation has come from an internal need to preserve ourselves as a human race. The value placed on our health has increased, thereby also increasing the value we have placed on the people who take care of our health. There are a number of careers in the health related field that have been put forth as the highest paying careers in the world. It is also important to note that according to experts 15 of the top twenty high paying careers are in the health field. Research on the internet, magazines and other sources of information indicates that top spots have been taken by health care careers in the past decade. To earn more it seems, you must develop skills and qualifications to work in either of the below fields that are in health care, even the top learning institutions agree that these careers are a sure way of becoming a top earner;
The first and highest earners in the health care field are surgeons. Whatever kind of surgeon one is, they earn an average of $250,000. Although it is clear that that more and more medical students are taking up surgery, even fewer are succeeding to meet the grueling requirements for successful graduation. The medical field is a grueling career in itself, but for the surgeons even more is required. Studying to become a surgeon can take over one’s life, no social or family time. All the time is spent studying and developing the skills required to change lives and save people. With the ever changing nature of diseases, and the new medical technology being discovered daily, surgeons find that they need to develop newer and more refined skills daily. Because surgeons are generally highly specialized in one field for example brain surgery, eye surgery, cardiology among others, the pay for hiring these professionals is quite high. There are some surgeons who actually earn more than half a million dollars in a month, in addition to being in high demand. However, it is perhaps important to note that the demands involved in making a successful career are many, you may be required to spend hours training, then hours on the operation table, travel to far ends of the globe to take care of patient in need of your skills. However, in addition to being a high paying career, surgery is also very rewarding in terms of lives saved and improved.
Second on the high paying heath care careers are the anesthesiologists. The demand for the anesthesiologists is increasing as the need for specific surgery in the medical world increases. Unfortunately, not many of the students seeking to pursue careers in the health care fields are interested in anesthesiology. In addition, some years back the profession was dealt a severe blow by lawsuits, categorizing lack of proper training, commitment and concern by the anesthesiologists which led to massive loss of lives. As a result, stakeholders in the health care field increased the regulations and requirements for anesthesiologists in addition to further specialized training before licensing. Now a career that most people considered the easiest in the medical field has fast become the most demanding in terms of resources and training.
Women’s liberation has brought with it increased awareness with regard to women’s health and especially the reproductive health. The great concern with women’s health has catapulted obstetricians and gynecologists from the demeaning career in health care to one of the highest paying careers. Obstetricians actually earn an average of $190,000. Actually, private practicing obstetricians and gynecologists earn an average of three times this amount. The demand for gynecologists and obstetricians is continuing to increase so much that the experts predict that this will be the highest paying health care job in the next decade. With the ever increasing complications with regard to the reproductive system and the birthing process, the demand for these experts will not be diminishing any time soon.
Recently, there has come to light a new group of experts that is increasing in popularity, these are the internal organs specialists. These specialists have studied and understood the internal organs such as the intestines, liver, spleen and kidneys such that they are able to diagnose disease, infections and bacteria in these organs and treat them without surgery. Although previously, it was thought that the only way to treat diseases of the internal organs was through surgery, the medical field is now awash with therapies and medications used by these experts for the same purpose.

In the various medical fields, physicians, nurses, and techs, the rewards in money earned are complemented by the satisfaction gained from helping other humans. No matter the sources of funding salaries or hourly pay, that is likely to continue as far into the future as the mind can contemplate.
